Install the Chrome extension
Add it from the store, sync one resume, and turn the score on for one board. Includes the unpacked route for a managed machine.
Two minutes to install, and one step afterwards that the install does not do for you.
1. Add it
- Open the extension screen while signed in.
- Press Add to Chrome and confirm the browser dialog.
- Pin it to the toolbar so the popup is one click away.
2. Sync a resume into it
Come back to Involve, signed in, and parse your resume. A green "extension synced" badge confirms the extension has its own copy.
This is the whole of the setup. There is no second sign-in, and no key to paste. A content script that runs on involveresume.com, and on no other site, hands over the session the website already holds, and the extension reads its own profile row from the database under row-level security.
The plan is therefore not a flag the page sends. A browser console posting a plan at the extension changes nothing, because the answer comes back from the server.
3. Turn the score on for one board
Open a job posting on a board you use, open the popup, and press Show my match score here. Chrome asks for that one site inside the click.
From then on every posting on that host carries the same score the website gives it. Out of the box there is no registered content script on any job board at all, so nothing happens on any site until you grant it.
If the store is blocked on your machine
Managed profiles at universities and large employers often block the Chrome Web Store outright. The extension screen carries a zip for that case.
- Download the zip and unzip it somewhere permanent. If you delete the folder, the extension goes with it.
- Open the browser's extensions page.
- Turn on developer mode.
- Choose Load unpacked and select the unzipped folder.
A copy installed this way does not update itself, so you would be repeating this on every release. Use the store if the machine lets you.

Questions about this
Which browsers does it work in?
Chrome, Edge, Brave and other Chromium browsers running Manifest V3, from Chrome 111 onwards. One store listing covers all of them.
Does the extension have its own login?
No. It reads the session the website already holds, from a content script that runs on involveresume.com and nowhere else. It will never ask you for a password.
My employer blocks the Chrome Web Store.
Download the zip from the extension screen and load it unpacked with developer mode on. A copy installed that way does not update itself.
Which plan does the fill button need?
An active Pro Max plan, or a campus licence. The popup says so and offers a button to the pricing page rather than leaving you to work out which tier is meant.
Sync one resume before you close the tab
An installed extension with no resume snapshot behind it can score nothing and fill nothing. The sync is the half of the install people miss.
